Speer : Evolution of Magmatic Afm Assemblages in Granitoid

چکیده

Many of the late Paleozoic granitoid plutons of the southern Appalachians are composite bodies with coarsegrained amphibole + biotite and biotite varietal facies (Speer et al., 1980). From field relations, these facies appear closely related, and multiple intrusion or differentiation comes to mind as an explanation for the relationship. In the Liberty Hill pluton, the coarse-grained central amphibole + biotite granitoids grade imperceptibly into marginal biotite granitoids, seemingly ruling out multiple intrusions. The compositions of the marginal biotite fa-

U/Pb and Pb/Pb zircon ages from granitoid rocks of Wallagga area: constraints on magmatic and tectonic evolution of Precambrian rocks of western Ethiopia

The Precambrian rocks in western Ethiopia consist of highand low-grade terranes intruded by granitoids with a wide compositional spectrum. The formation ages of these granitoid rocks are, so far, poorly understood. Single-grain zircon Pb/Pb evaporation and conventional U/Pb dating conducted on four granitoids places time constraints on their emplacement and tectonothermal events. Three granitoi...

The role of feldspar crystals zoning in interpreting the magmatic evolution of the Goushe granitoid Pluton (SE of Boroujerd)

The Goushe granitoid Pluton is located southeast of Boroujerd. The study area is composed of granite, granodiorite and the microgranular enclaves located in it with the granodiorite to quartzmonzodiorite combination. The microgranular enclaves presence along with evidence of the presence of the non-equilibrium textures such as dissolved margin and plagioclase zoning, sieve textures, mafic clots...

Petrology and geochemistry of Aligoodarz granitoid, Western Iran: implications for petrogenetic relation with Boroujerd and Dehno granitoids

The Aligoodarz granitoid occurs in Sanandaj-Sirjan Zone (SSZ), Western Iran. Tonalite, granodiorite and granite are the main rock types cropping out in the area. Comparison of Aligoodarz granitoid with Dehno and Boroujerd granitoids reveals several similarities in their chemical characteristics. Thus, the above mentioned granitoids can be assigned as a co-genetic magmatic suite, in which pluton...
